The Africa College Partnership recognises that despite the contraction of the world economy, the consequences of climate change must be addressed as environmental change will reduce food security in Africa. The accurate prediction and evaluation of climate change-related effects on human health and food security is thus a prerequisite to ensuring that the future needs of Africa are effectively addressed so that the lives of millions can be improved.
Major issues, spanning human health, livelihoods, agriculture and environmental impacts, are being addressed through our combined engagement and expertise and through our network of national and international partnerships that undertake basic and applied research designed to improve sustainable approaches to food production and improved human nutrition while maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem services and minimising environmental impacts.
