Climate change feedbacks in Kalahari rangelands

Head of School for Earth and Environment, Dr. Andy Dougill is just back from Botswana where he has been conducting research on climate change feedbacks in Kalahari rangelands, by analysing carbon and nitrogen fluxes between soils and the atmosphere. These biosphere-atmosphere fluxes represent a major unaccounted feedback in current climate change models and a programme of work is being developed with funding already secured from the Leverhulme Trust and NERC.
