Academics make an impact
Africa College generates media impact:
Tim Benton summarised issues associated with sustainable food security on Countryfile (BBC1).
Richard Girling, Environmental journalist of the year used Africa College research on banana in a powerful article that argued that GM crops are good for both people and the plant (Sunday Times magazine , 27th June 2010).
The Yorkshire Evening post (10th June 2010) used Africa College and Water@Leeds as examples of 'innovative projects at the University of Leeds set to change the world'. In interview, David Howlett emphasised that Africa College is addressing research questions that are important and can lead to a impact.
