Tropical Crops Biotechnology Conference
Hugh Roderick, a member of the Atkinson lab, is travelling to South Africa for the second Tropical Crops Biotechnology Conference (21st-25th July 2009) to present his work on bananas and plantains and to learn about biotechnology applications for other tropical crops. The conference is being held next to the Kruger National Park and includes researchers from Europe, Africa, Australia and the US discussing work being carried out on the range of cereals, fruits and roots that are important tropical crops. The possibilities and implications of the uses of biotechnology will also be a prominant theme at the conference with several presentations on the role of GM crops for the tropics."
