Research without boundaries goes live with RWB forum
Research Without Boundaries (RWB) was formed in December of 2008 by Postdoctoral and Postgraduate researchers from the Plant Sciences Centre who wanted to be involved with the Africa College initiative. Over the last year, as well as growing to a membership of 40 across three faculties, we have managed to define our role with in Africa College as a means for knowledge transfer between Leeds University and African young researchers through our flagship pen pal scheme. Initially conceived as an email exchange the scheme has now evolved into an online forum (found at http://www.africacollege.leeds.ac.uk/forum.php) that is open for anyone to join and post questions, comments and suggestions. The forum allows us to discover the issues and needs of African based research and how best we can develop our own research to acquire collaborations with African based researchers as well as a more immediate technical knowledge resource for African researchers.
The group are also active socially; the next social is on Thursday 3rd December, if you'd like to join us then let our social secretary Nicky Atkinson know (email@example.com). We also have a Facebook group where you can find out some more about us (http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=67821147230). If you would like to know more please don't hesitate to contact me (firstname.lastname@example.org).
